Getting started with Polar Zinsmere
A step-by-step walkthrough of setting up your account, from registration to your first live dashboard view. By the end of this page you'll know exactly what to expect at each stage, what each step is actually for, and what to do if something doesn't go the way it's described here.
1. Introduction
This guide walks you through the platform setup from your first click to seeing live monitoring on your dashboard. It's written for someone who has never used an automated trading tool before, so nothing here assumes prior experience. After following it, you'll have a verified account, a connected exchange (if you choose to connect one), and an active monitoring setup running.
Most people finish these four steps in under fifteen minutes of active time, though full account verification can take a little longer depending on how quickly your identity documents are reviewed. There's no need to rush any individual step; your personal manager is available throughout if anything feels unclear, and nothing here is designed to pressure you into a decision faster than you're comfortable making it.
We've deliberately kept this to four steps rather than a longer onboarding flow, because a setup process that takes an hour tends to get abandoned halfway through. Each step below explains not just what to click, but why the step exists, so you're making an informed choice at every stage rather than clicking through a form you don't fully understand.
2. Step 1: Register your account
Start with the registration form: your name, email, a phone number your manager can reach you on, and a password. Choose a password you don't use anywhere else, and enable two-factor authentication as soon as your account is created; it's the single most effective step you can take to keep the account yours alone. A personal manager will call shortly after registration to confirm your details and answer any first questions.
After registering, you'll be asked to verify your identity by uploading a government-issued photo ID and, depending on your account tier, a proof of address. This is a standard part of our AML/KYC process and is required before an account can deposit or withdraw at full capacity; most submissions are reviewed within one to three business days.
3. Step 2: Connect a crypto exchange
If you want the platform to monitor and act on an exchange account you already hold, connect it using an API key generated from that exchange's own settings. When you create the key, restrict its permissions to market data and trading only; never enable withdrawal permission on a connected key. Your manager can walk through this step with you live if you're unsure which settings to choose on your particular exchange.
This step is optional; you can use Polar Zinsmere's own tracked assets and dashboard without connecting an external exchange at all. If you're not sure whether connecting one makes sense for how you plan to use the platform, ask your manager before setting it up rather than connecting something you may not end up using.
4. Step 3: Set up monitoring and analysis
Choose which trading pairs you want the platform watching, set the conditions that matter to you (for example, a volatility threshold or a specific price movement), and decide how you want to be notified, by email, dashboard alert, or both. You can start broad and narrow your watchlist down once you have a feel for the volume of alerts you're comfortable with.
A common approach for first-time users is to start with two or three assets you're already familiar with, get comfortable reading the alerts and summaries for a week or two, and then expand the watchlist once the dashboard feels familiar. There's no penalty for adjusting your settings frequently in the first few weeks while you find what works for you, and every setting can be changed again later without restarting the process.
5. Step 4: Review and manage your dashboard
Your dashboard is the main hub: it shows current positions, recent alerts, account balance, and quick access to deposit, withdraw and settings. Spend a few minutes exploring it before you fund the account, so nothing on it feels unfamiliar once real money is involved. Settings can be adjusted at any time, not just during setup.
Once you're comfortable with the layout, fund your account using an available deposit method, from as little as A$250, and watch your first live monitoring session begin. Many clients choose to start at or near the minimum and increase their deposit only once they've had time to see how the platform behaves with real money on the line.
6. Important notes
None of the steps above guarantee a profit. The platform's monitoring and automation reduce manual effort, they do not remove market risk, and you remain responsible for the investment decisions you make, including choosing a strategy and setting a deposit amount you're comfortable risking. Read our Risk Disclosure before funding your account.
If any step doesn't go as described, whether a verification takes longer than expected or a setting behaves differently than you anticipated, contact [email protected] or your personal manager rather than guessing at a workaround. Getting it right the first time is worth the extra few minutes of a support conversation.
7. Where to go next
Once your dashboard is live, the pages below cover the details this guide didn't have room for: how the underlying assets work, exactly what things cost, and where to go if a question comes up that your manager hasn't already answered. None of them are required reading before you register, but each one answers a question most clients ask eventually.
